(Completed 103/125 =)

5) Geo

(erms....)

Actually, school reopen = exams are coming!! Stress!
(Hopes my decision to join UGC amd SC camp willl not be wrong=)

Haha....

Exams are coming soon.. which means to say i do have to make a decision between poly and jc.
Recently, i received a letter from sp, inviting to attend a talk that they organised (well that is indeed surprising, considering that i have no connection with sp!) That letter forced me to rethink about my decision though, but i think i am most likely going to jc. Why? Like what spider had said, i am not a practical person, i requires facts to drive me on. Therefore, i am better off in a jc...

Ironic isn't it? But that means to say that i have to work hard for the rest of the months! Ermzz, for that i really need some motivations to drive me on!

Mon-- EMaths& SS Paper

(Gd luck! =))

SC Camp Briefing

~Seriously, I do have a feeling of not attending after attending the briefing.`

Not that I am fickle-minded, but the planning sucks.....

What is the use of a briefing when it is just stating the obvious?

Incident no 1:

(when talking the part on Sembawang Park)

XJ: My Part A took 1 hr to trek to Sembawang Park, and you are telling me that it is 1hr to and fro journey.

(i forget what sindhu had said already, but it was something like it will take 1/2 hr_)

VP: aiya, if not just push back la...

Yea, those who have the experience of planning camp will know this theory. But the fact that the VP said something like that showed 1 thing: EXCOs are not even confident of their own planning!

The details of the event at Sembawang Park is sketchy. All we were told is that it will be like an amazing race style and there will be a fashion show at the end.

Yea, and I have 101 Qns to ask (not even touched on):

1) Who is going to stay in school to look after the belonging? If it is the logistics people, who are they? And what are they going to do in school?

2) What if there is a heavy downpour? Are the campers going to a shelter and shelter there or are they going to continue on but wearing poncho?

3) I heard that there is going to be a picture clue. If there is a heavy rain, how are you going to prevent the paper from getting wet?

4) Pending to the fashion show: Is there any theme? How long are you going to let them prepare? 1/2hr?

5) What if there is a downpour during the course of preparation/ duration of fashion show? Are you going to house them in a shelter? If yes, what shelter are we using? How far are they from the playground? Is it big enough to hold everybody? (the experience for me is that you will need at least 2 shelter).

6) How long is the treasure hunt going to be? 1 hr? What if the campers cannot finish on time? Are you going to

(i) Drag the programme
or (ii) Ask them to report back

7) There are bound to have medics for the event. But where are you going to put them? With the station or at the checkpoint?

See? Can anybody tell me the use of a briefing?

I dont even bother to bring it up because i feel that the vp is just trying to go through motion. See the reply that she gave to xj and you will understand.

And the excos are even not firm in their decision!

What makes a good leader? It is true that a leader do need to listen to his people for ideas, but when it is time to make a decision a leader is supposed 2 be firm!

Iniatially i was told 2 prepare campfire while daryl, yang qin and sim ying go out to buy stuffs. Now, it seems that i need not do so! Instead daryl and co will do campfire (and no one seems 2 bother about the food buying!)

2 1/2 weeks to mid yr?

Lols...

Going to another camp soon....when it is like 1 week before exam?

Fredrick (yong) was like predicting how many people will do badly for mid yr exams....

```
To be frank, i wasn't really wanted to go for camp. It was only on the part of the shortage of manpower that i decided to go....( i also because i told ong that i wanted 2 back out of e video thingy)
true to what ying` had said, UG camp was a reflection of what each UG was good at....But that was only the programme, what makes a camp successful is the people involved in it....
A mirror with cracks will never work like a mirror that is perfect. No matter how much you assured people that your relationship is fine, there are bound to have some differences that have yet to be solved. How can you expect people to work with each other again? How can you expect people to trust you again?
With just like 2 months before we step down, i think it is high time that we make the camp a successful one....the consequences of not doing so will means that the council will continue the landslide till nowwhere....esp. if the sec 3 leadership skills have still be remain 2 be seen.
Combined UG Camp
~Woots~
3 days (actually is 4 days for the com) and 2 night camp ended on a high note! Well done guys...
Day0
The committee members went to school ,despite the fact that it was Vesak Day, to prepare for the camp. We had some fun packing the logistics and playing basketball (before qin, jun, yong and sindhu came).
Then we went to eat our prata and had a whopping fun time with yong joking with us.
One of his a 'jokes"
Yong: " After sindhu left, there are only 1 gal with us right?"
(he forgot the fact that jun is a gal too...)
Haha...
After filling our stomach, we began to do our night walk. It don't really looked very scary as i was thought because of the moonlight.
Some of the com biked back while the rest (yoke, qin, xj and me) took yong's car back. It ended up a session of talking horoscope .
Quite true la....
Back at school, we continued packing our stuff. The night nearly ended in frustration when we found out that there was a shortage of gadget poles. Really sorry to sindhu as we had to ransacked her room to get the rest.
~~~

The rest of the camp went. It had of course its high and downs.

The frustration for me started when some of the sec 3 did not come for camp as promised. We had pined alot of high hopes on people like Nazeerah, Farhanim. Yet, they didn't turn for the camp without a reason. How irresponsible this people are...

For those scouts who didn't turn up, mr yong forced them to pay $30 each. But we can't possibly do that to np....

Day 1 ended with a high note with the campers cheering the whole house down. Mr yong said that he nearly went deaf....good...

`Mood was high`

Day 2 was the most tiring day for the camper.

It was the first time that i tasted something using the fire that we built from leaves and twigs. With spider's experience, the fire that the comm set up was clearly the best among the other groups. Alpha, for once, had created a lot of air pollution that lead to quan and i commenting of the psi value being high. Haha...

The potato that cooked from the pit tasted yummy (taste like potato chips). And I managed to eat 4 of them (till i get sick of them)....

The day ended with the night walk. It was damm exciting.

Case 1: 10s scream

Case 2: Wei Lee scaring the instructors instead of the other way around

Case 3: Some of the boys were scared even before they went in...

(in contrast with xue bing wanting to go in alone)

The night hike back became a speed test. At first, i thought all campers will reach school at 4 a.m.. But i think i underestimated them. Jia yang began to challenge me to a speed walk. I was like ok as i dont want him to be too far in front of me. I was chasing after him (and i nearly ended up running). [ After the camp, he was like asking me if i want to have another trek with him again. haha]
